Getting Started Guide for Teachers
This is a guide designed to help teachers use Lessonspace for the first time and get familiar with the Space. You as a teacher can join this demo Space to try the tools or follow the steps below to learn more about how to use Lessonspace.
Teacher Dashboard:
This is how your teacher dashboard will look like. You can find all the Spaces assigned to you there.
Joining the Space for the first time:
Follow this guide on how to join a Space. Make sure you have given permission to your browser to “Allow” for audio and video. You can troubleshoot any problems you have by clicking on the gear icon > Troubleshooting in the right-hand side menu. You should be ready for your lesson when you get the message "Everything looks good!".
Exploring the Space:
The Document Tab and Whiteboard are where you can interact with your notes and work together with your students through the lesson. You can see your students' cursor move and they can see yours. There are many awesome features on the whiteboard, read here to explore them all.
The Chat:
It helps you speak to your student if you can’t hear them and need help troubleshooting problems. You can type into the chat, press Enter to send, post links, questions and homework in the chat that you can come back to in your next lessons.
Leading Mode:
If you enable Leading mode in the lesson, it means that wherever you as the teacher go in a Space, your students will be pulled with you to that same tab. Whichever portion of the Whiteboard you see, your students will see as well.
As a Leader, you can manage participants in the Space. This means that you can ban misbehaving students, mute their microphones or turn off their video.
Progress tracking and assigning grades or homework:
It's great to keep track of a student's progress, grades, assignments or homework. You can easily do this on the Lessonspace by using the Document tab and following these simple steps.
Uploading documents:
Upload and annotate documents (PDFs, images and more) on the whiteboard. Here's how to do it.
Resource Drawer:
To make the most out of your lesson, insert material easily from the Resource Drawer. Find a worksheet or graph you like, click on it and it will be added to the whiteboard. You can then resize and annotate the material.
Exiting the Space:
To leave a Space click on the cross in the top tab in your browser. You can review your work at any time by re-clicking on your Lesson Link.
